Meeting Plan for Cracking "The Da Vinci Code" at the Louvre
In Paris 1st stands an arc—gateway to a Palace no longer.
Built by Napoleon, when France was perhaps stronger.
Your guide waits there between columns pink and white.
Beholding the Louvre at its Pyramid site.
Meet your guide outside the Louvre, under the central arch of the Arc du Carrousel.
The Arc du Carrousel (shown in photo) is outside, located directly across the street from the main pyramid entrance of the Musée du Louvre, at the end of the Tuileries Garden closest to the museum. Please do not confuse this arc with the more famous Arc de Triomphe at the end of Champs-Elysées.
If you are traveling by Metro, the nearest stop is "Palais Royal/Musée du Louvre" (lines 1/7) or "Tuileries" (line 1). Both will give access to the rue de Rivoli. From there, you may reach the Arc du Carrousel by turning onto rue de Rohan, and passing under the arches of the museum building itself.
If you are approaching the Louvre from the Seine side, or the Left Bank, cross the river at the Pont du Carrousel, walking straight towards the Place du Carrousel. The Arc du Carrousel will be on your left, the Grand Pyramid at your right.
Your guide will be waiting under the central arch of the Arc du Carrousel and will have purchased your admission tickets to the Louvre in advance.
If you have any problems or questions about meeting your guide, please contact us directly at:
06.73.77.33.52. (drop the "0" when calling from outside France).
Please be aware that your guide will wait for a maximum of 20 minutes after the scheduled time of your tour. We regret that we are unable to give refunds for late arrivals beyond this time, or for cancellations less than 24 hours before the tour begins.
NOTE: The underground shopping mall next to the Louvre is also called the Carrousel, but this is unrelated to our meeting place. Our meeting location is the Arc du Carrousel, located outside at street level.
