Da Vinci Code Tours
We offer two different ways to explore The Da Vinci Code:
Cracking "The Da Vinci Code" at the Louvre
[Book this tour]
2.5-hour private museum tour. 4 person maximum. Reserved at your convenience. €110 for individuals, or €95 per person for parties of two or more.
A museum tour exploring the art and ideas behind Dan Brown's best-selling thriller The Da Vinci Code. You and your own private "symbologist" revisit Robert Langdon's adventures at the Musée du Louvre. This tour begins and ends where his fictional caper does. Of course, the Louvre is so much more than simply the setting where that breathless action unfolded. Its works of art can be used to test the book's provocative claims. Do Leonardo's paintings reveal hidden symbolism? Is the true nature of Mary Magdalene's relationship with Christ expressed in paintings depicting her? Is it really the case that Christian art recycles symbols from earlier so-called "pagan" cultures? We'll visit galleries on and off the beaten track— from Greek terra cottas to Renaissance masterpieces in the Grande Galerie—in an effort to answer these questions and more. Join us in your own half-day hunt for the truth.
Note: This tour is designed for the first-time visitor as well as those already familiar with the Louvre's collection. If you are more interested in a highlights tour of the Louvre's most well-known works, however, we recommend reserving our "Introduction to the Treasures" tour.

Revisit The Da Vinci Code adventure by tracing the fictional footsteps of Robert Langdon—from the Hotel Ritz where it all begins, to the Louvre’s underground Inverted Pyramid, where his search for the Holy Grail ends.
You’ll learn about the significance of these and other Da Vinci Code sites in Paris—long before they became the locations for a blockbuster Hollywood movie! You’ll also learn where fact ends and fiction begins in The Da Vinci Code. If you know where to look, the city's own "symbology" offers many answers to questions raised by Dan Brown.
The Da Vinci Code Trail explores these Paris locations:
Hotel Ritz and Place Vendome, Place de la Concorde and Tuilieries Gardens, Arc du Carrousel and Louvre exterior, Arago plaques, Saint-Germain-des-Prés exterior, Saint-Sulpice (shown in photo).
Note: This tour does not enter the Louvre museum. If you are interested in a private tour of the Louvre, read about our “Cracking ‘The Da Vinci Code’ at the Louvre” museum tour.
This tour is not available on Sunday mornings, when services take place in Saint-Sulpice.
Meeting point: Detailed information about meeting your guide will be sent to you upon reservation.
